沿岸環境科学研究センター（CMES）において、本年度６月より活動を実施しております、共同利用・共同研究拠点「化学汚染・沿岸環境研究拠点」（LaMer）プロジェクトの一環として、下記の要領で第３回特別講演会を行うこととなりました。Bioinformaticsにご興味のある方の多数のご参加をお待ちしております。

題目： バイオインフォマティクスの世界へようこそ
講師： 飯田 緑先生 （九州工業大学情報工学部 研究員）
生物学 (biology) と情報学 (information science) が融合した新たな学問領域、バイオインフォマティクス (bioinformatics)。バイオインフォマティクスとはどんな分野なのか？なんの役に立つのか？どのような研究が行われているのか？本講演では、バイオインフォマティクス分野の基礎と最新の研究例を紹介する。

Title: Welcome to the world of bioinformatics!
Bioinformatics is a new interdisciplinary research field that combines biology and information science. What is bioinformatics? How does bioinformatics work? What is going on in bioinformatics researches? This lecture will introduce the basic theories and recent advances in bioinformatics.
